PRO PHOTOGRAPHER SWITCH TO MIRRORLESS CAMERA......

As they say that the mirrorless cameras are the camera of the future. Maybe true maybe not, but there are definite advantages in going for a mirrorless cameras and I will try to go at it as much as I can from my point of view. A DSLR weight can average to 3.4 lbs. body only not to mention the cost of the camera and a good lens can be about the same as the body, even double the weight. A pro would normally carry at least two sets of equipment not to mention a mono pod, couple of flash units, which can become very heavy. Mind you, I am not trying to make a dslr look bad, I am speaking from my experience being a photographer for over forty years now. I use a Canon 1D and an aging photographer like myself less weight means a ton of comfort when doing a coverage like boxing specially in Las Vegas where one has to walk miles inside the mega casinos or covering President Obama and alike, out in the hot sun of Vegas with a ton of equipment on your back walking to the assigned positions for the photographer. This is what I have been going through in the past.

So decisions decisions decisions, I have looked at the mirrorless cameras on the market, checking out features, capacity and most importantly, cost. I favored the Samsung NX30 because what got my attention is the view finder can be pulled out and shoot waist level which gives me another angle to shoot from. The most important feature for me is the 21.9 oz. weight of the body, and the 50 - 200 lens is only 14.71 oz. and that to me is a very welcome advantage. There are technical features that I will not get into and maybe should anyone decide to go the route that I took, you can check all of the other things that a mirrorless can offer and if you think it is for you I would suggest to deal with it thoroughly before you make the move.

I have no regrets in my decision to totally switch to the mirrorless camera system. The results so far have been nothing but superb. Please find below some fashion show coverage very recently. This are all available lights at a higher ISO rating and noise control is not a factor at all.

MAYWEATHER - PACQUIAO PRESS CONFERENCE

FINALLY, what everybody in the boxing world has been waiting for, is on. The Flloyd Mayweather - Manny Pacquiao fight is actually happening and it starts with the press conference tomorrow in Los Angeles, which is not open to the public and only accredited press people are given credentials. It has always been expected that this will be a very restricted event and naturally so being the biggest boxing event for a long time if not the biggest one of all time. The public's unbelievable response to this event is simply record breaking. This will bring an indecent amount of revenue for Las Vegas. Ceasar's Palace is fully booked on that day and MGM's rooms are running to $1600 a night. The tickets, I heard are from $1600 to $7500 and that can go much higher when bought thru a broker.
Manny Pacquiao is dedicating this fight to the fans and all of the Filipinos worldwide. He is determined to bring the pride and glory to the Philippines. Photos are provided by BFMFINS eMagazine, via the Official Photographer for California Bobby Saddul.
